Abstract:
Through spatio-temporal analysis and data mining, this study explored the changing trends and driving factors of ecological quality in Guangxi. The results showed that from 2020 to 2024,the Ecological Quality Index (EQI) were 74.91,75.10,74.93,74.84,and 74.63,respectively,maintaining a "Grade I" classification. The biodiversity index showed continuous improvement, while the ecological pattern index continuously decreased, the ecological function index fluctuated, and the degree of ecological stress gradually intensified. The EQI rankings across county types, from highest to lowest, were as follows: water conservation function areas, soil and water conservation function areas, other regions, and urban built-up areas.Among these, other regions experienced a relatively more severe decline in EQI.The third-level indicators of the county in ecological function were both the largest positive and negative contributors annually. The main internal indicator affecting the change of EQI was ecological function index (0.95),followed by habitat quality index and land development interference index.Annual precipitation was the main factor affecting the change of ecological function (-0.21),while desertification was the main factor affecting the change of ecological pattern (0.18).Under the frequent occurrence of extreme weather and the accelerated process of urbanization,Guangxi still faces significant challenges in improving its ecological quality.
